Transitions

Everyone thinks of the changing of the seasons as the big transitions of the year. But it's hard to deny the stark contrast between the start of autumn and the start of winter.

The days can still swelter, the leaves have hardly begun to change. Nature lives an entire lifetime before winter begins. The weather turns crisp, the leaves color and fall, frost bites at the grass and the dark finds you much more quickly.

The shortest day of the year is the winter equinox.

Then the days get longer. Late autumn is where we feel it the most.

It is a long transition, a lengthening of nighttime and a visual change as memorable as the winter snows.

Transitions is the final colorway of our An Ode to Late Autumn collection.

This colorway is a warm olive green.

Fingering Weight, 85% Superwash Merino (Extra Fine) 15% Nylon, 4-ply, 437 yards // 100 grams

All skeins are hand-dyed with care in a smoke-free and pet-free home. Please note that while all skeins are dyed together, every skein of yarn is unique and there may be some slight variation between them. After dyeing, all yarn is washed and rinsed thoroughly, however, a small amount of color bleeding may still occur during the first wash. 

For best care, please gently hand wash in cold water with a wool wash and lay flat to dry. Store yarn in an area away from direct sunlight to help maintain color.
