Sparkle of Lightning Bugs

As night dims, but before most of the stars arrive, a slow flashing on and off glow begins to surround you. 

Here and there, far off and close by, the dance of the firefly commences for the evening. Showing off their splendor, you become enchanted by them. Your feet carry you across the meadow, drawn to each of the dazzling lightning bugs. 

One lands on your hand. Its wings buzz as it settles. Blink on. Blink off. The glow is there and then gone. A constant in the dark for a moment in time. 

It flies back into the sky, giving you a lit up goodbye, before joining its brethren to continue their dance. For a time, as you watch them, you forget there are other stars to look up at. The living stars before you are beautiful in their own right. 

Sparkle of Lightning Bugs (did you know that’s what a group of them is called? A sparkle?!) is a dedication to those fun glowing bugs that half of us call Lightning Bugs while the other half calls them Fireflies. It’s a swirl of blue, teal, and green, with bright spots to represent the dance of these darling bugs.

Fingering Weight, 85% Superwash Merino (Extra Fine) 15% Nylon, 4-ply, 437 yards // 100 grams 

All skeins are hand-dyed with care in a smoke-free and pet-free home. Please note that while all skeins are dyed together, every skein of yarn is unique and there may be some slight variation between them. After dyeing, all yarn is washed and rinsed thoroughly, however, a small amount of color bleeding may still occur during the first wash. 

For best care, please gently hand wash in cold water with a wool wash and lay flat to dry. Store yarn in an area away from direct sunlight to help maintain color.
